COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND VOLUNTEERISM

All the believers were one in mind and heart. Selfishness was not a part of their community, for they shared everything they had with one another.

Acts 4:32 TPT

When a group of people with common interests and goals come together to fulfill a mission, that mission is sure to see the light of the day because of the communal spirit and oneness.

As Christians we are a community, therefore, as Christians in a corporate world,  we have an obligation to enrich the kingdom of God where we are; as bankers, lawyers, business executives,  medical personnel, teachers, and entrepreneurs.

Ecclesiastes 9:10: Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

As believers in the corporate world, we have a lot of responsibilities to take upon ourselves. We must be committed physically and sometimes with our possessions/resources.

A doctor can pull together a health team for medical outreach where drugs and consultation can be provided for community.

A lawyer can work pro-bono for people who are cheated and indigent.

Several people can come together to sponsor and award scholarships.

Organizations can work together to provide and supplement needs for the less privileged while still sharing the good news of the gospel.

”Love is the joy we get from God when we put His benefit and the benefit of another person before our own.”  God’s love is never empty, it is meant to be shared among ourselves and the world around us.

The question is what do you have and willing to share?
